I've just recently started having difficulty in emptying my bladder throughout the day self-cathing. I'm getting out far less than I drink and feel bloated. I recently had a urodynamics test which said my bladder can comfortably hold 500ml and the botox I had was holding well. I also take Oxybutinin XL to prevent spasms.
When I go to bed at night I empty out the days liquid in one or two caths, and now have to wear a sheath during the day in case of leakages (anything between 20 - 200ml).
Hi harry and To the forum. How many times a day do you cath ? I'm a L3 incomplete and often I drink a lot but but don't pee that much and thankfully I don't leak unless I'm sick, even the flu will cause me to leak. But I normally pee about 800 mls a day. But occasionally I will only pee about 300 mls a day. That's about all I can help you with but I'm sure you will get more help from the forum very soon mate. Hope you keep posting.
I usually cath five or six times a day, and until recently would usually pee around 300ml each time. Now it's just saving it up until I get in bed at night. I'm constantly now in a sheath - which I must say I hate - and could usually go throughout the night without leaking.
Can i just ask how if you are managing to empty your bowels ok? Sometimes a full bowel can put pressure on the bladder and cause an issue catheterising or voiding, just a thought.
I'm drinking at the same times (and if anything a little more as the weather heats up) so the not peeing until the evening seems strange. My botox was done in July last year, but a test in April - filled to 500ml with room to spare, and also a camera examination - said everything looked fine. I'm not sure when it starts wearing off how quickly the accidents happen.
I'm not so sure myself it's the botox failing as last night I went out, came back and did a cath of 600ml, no leaking at all. I'm confused.
