Gaining strength is definitely a big one Europedude! Now that summer is here I can start wheeling outdoors more and start building up my upper body strength.
We can't get a ticket for using a "normal" parking space!
Disneyland caters to us like we are movie stars. We get larger cabins/rooms on cruise ships. They build larger toilet stalls for us. We can use family restrooms while we are alone and nobody complains about it. We can use narcotics legally.
While waiting in line at target or wal mart you can have a little fun with your friends if they get you mad just swing your legat the person in front of you watch them turn around and start talkin mess to your friend while your friend blames you for the kicking

I also have a ton of fun in my chair... pushing limits of what the normal people expect to see from a person in a chair - I Hovercraft, jet boat, have an ultralight and street trike project - I hand cycle, Kayak, and just have a lust to get out and accomplish new things when time & family allow it.
Never have I ever had an issue getting the ladies.... as attitude is everything -- once a lady see my dance moves...Sold there coming home with me lol

1. your legs never get tired 2. We can get parking with our pics on it (if you so choose to use it. I don't always) 3. Great upper body strength 4. When people stare we choose whether is because we are in a wheelchair or because we look good. I choose it's because i look good 5. I'd say we tend to get to see people for who they really are fairly quickly. Some people will be your friend and some won't and I think being a wheelchair user helps us weed out the fake people pretty quickly. 6. I will say that although I don't want to be on disability forever and Lord willing I will get off of it one day I think it's great to be a wheelchair user because being able to get on disability open up resources that some people don't have. It can be a catch 22 but it is doable with research and planning. I am still learning. 7. I can "walk" faster than most of my friends 8. Always have a chair with me 9. An "excuse" not to get up when they say "everybody stand" To which i always jokingly say "I refuse!" People don't know whether to laugh or not and I find it hilarious LOL 10. We are occasionally lucky to have to get some hot dude or girl to help lift us, like in a canoe or something hehehe
I hope some of these made you alaugh and you can relate too!
That's crazy jimmyt, looked like it was fun! Was that Aaron Fotheringham there with you guys? The weather looked like it made things harder but I bet it was fun in the same time being able to skid around easy!
