I was wondering if anyone has ever done a bowel cleanse to clean out your bowels if you feel backed up and/or bloated? I take my Lactulose everyday, but sometimes my bowels won't move and I end up skipping days, which isn't good. Ideas on a bowel cleanse or detox?
I use a Magic Bullet suppository when things get backed up longer than usual. It works in 25 to 45 minutes after inserting it. I occasionally, but rarely, have any bowel accidents after using it. Now I worry mostly about bladder spasms and floating away when the bladder decides to completely empty itself between scheduled times.
P.S. I'm not stalking ing you. lol.
We both deal with CES and SCI so we will have some similar issues. I have been dealing with CES since 2009 full time.
Senna has a very limited effect when the nerves from L3 to L5 are injured. The large intestine doesn't get all the signals to move so it doesn't push the contents to the rectum like it should. The suppositories help get contractions going that helps to empty the bowel more effectively.

The problem is truwrecks is that supps wont work for all CES people. Im complete with CES and its either senna and movacol or peristeen. Normally suppositories are better for higher level injuries but not low. I guess its not the same for everyone and its finding what works best...theres sometimes no pattern to all this lol
