This video offers some great practical information on bladder and bowel management of accidents. The video is presented by forum member mikefatty who has a series of very insightful videos. Take a look, its great!
I would think the health care industry would come up with solutions for us. Everything seems so archaic. I tried a condom cath and it just pressured up and then leaked because there was so much surface tension that the fluid wouldn't enter the tube and go in the bag! That industry should be ashamed of the lack of ingenuity. I give them an F.

Thanks for the video Mike!
This is exactly why I'm not lucky in the bladder department. To be honest I think the condom cath is the greatest invention ever but I hate it when it starts leaking. I'd still take the comdom catheter over the foley and suprapubic catheters!
Lαrα,Butiki, dlevy,DJ,wavewolf,Wow, that video was awesome, or rather Mikefatty is awesome for being able to make a video on this subject. My husband is a paraplegic for 24 years now, doing in/out caths all this time, now all of a sudden he is leaking a lot. He took vesicare for years to help with his bladder, started having really bad dry mouth, had to quit taking it. He is now on Myrbetric which doesn't seem to help. Went to see his Urologist and he simply says there is nothing he can do about the leaking problem, goes along with getting older. I'm sorry but I don't believe there is nothing to be done. Do any of you have any suggestions? As Mikefatty said, he keeps a rag in his pants but hard to make it stay where it needs to be, he refuses to wear underwear afraid they will wrinkle under him and cause problems. He had to wear a foley catheter one time for a while to stretch his sphincter. He is thinking about doing this again but not sure what size, he just wants to use it to keep from peeing his pants constantly. What advice can you all give me? I trust you all more than I trust his Urologist at this point. And thanks in advance.
Instead of a rag why not go with a pad, they have the sticky side to stay in place. Even though I have a pretty good routine down I still just wear one everyday, would almost never fail when I didn't I would have a accident, also find if I am having a bowel accident it keeps it pretty well in until get to the toilet, but if I am just in underwear some will always get out.
