Spinal Cord Injured Dogs on their 'Wheels'

Lαrα, such a great photo--pack mentality with wheels!!!!! Those horseshoe crabs can be wicked, can turn on you and stab.

Dogs are amazingly resilient, and their pack members far more accepting than ours, perhaps.

Auto accidents, spinal injuries from disease and structural weakness (such as long back in dachshunds), and degenerative myelopathy (sort of a canine MS) are leading causes for dogs to need wheelchairs.  My first service dog, Lex, had DM, but he did not get to use a wheelchair because I could not get him in and out of the house with it. But I carried his back end in his harness--the paralyzed helping the paralyzed!  His will to carry on was inspiring to me.

Yup, that is part of it.  Lex would look at his pile and then at me, and "ask" if I had an accident!  Sometimes I wasn't sure whose it was...   Oddly, he did not have bladder accidents.  I had to press downward and back on his bladder area to get him to start his stream near the end.
