My pain always skyrockets around 11:00pm, and no matter what position I try, or if I'm still up doing things and being fully distracted, my pain is always worse at night. I don't understand why. I will have to do some research today and add my findings! Input appreciated!
Knight I also feel that the nerve pain on my toes worsen as soon as I get to bed. Maybe it's because our minds are occupied at other times but at night when we're resting we notice it more?
This is the problem at night sometimes Knight..Our minds are at rest..getting ready to sleep and not so active. Nerve pain is often present most of the day but we tend to not notice it so much when our mind is occupied.
When i have this problem i get some earphones on and play music..it does definitely help....
Knight, I have Brown Sequard Syndrome and I find that as soon as I go to bed and lay down the burning and pain seem to increase as well, and during the night I have to get up and move around for a while may be two or three times. Like the other posts I think is also that your mind becomes conscious of the pain at night, where as it has been distracted from it during to the day. I also have found that since the weather have become hotter the burning has increased as well. The part of it that I couldn't get my head around at first was the fact that with in minutes of laying down and taking weight of my body that the pain would then start.
I think this is more common than not. My pain gets better at night, and starts up again as soon as I lay in my coffin, bwahahahahahahaha! I really think I'm becoming a vampire...up till wee hours because cooler, better band width, and I feel better after dark. Mind is clear and environment is quietest. Sleep like the dead in morning hours, although I always liked being up early and out in the woods or on the water.

Maybe, who knows? The nerve pain sucks.
(I have more to say here, but I am headed off to physical therapy right now)
Also, DJ, how do I multi-quote on my computer? I know how to do it on the ProBoards app, but can't figure it out. Maybe I'm just not on the desktop site very often.
Knight, you see the dropdown button with the cog wheel on each post where the quote button is? Click on that and then click the "select post" button. Select as many posts as you want and when you're finished you have to click on the quote for the last post you want to quote. Sorry if it sounds confusing but it's actually quite easy!
Lara...nice vampire pic! Knight...how are you feeling today?
Yesterday I felt AWESOME! Lol! I got discharged from the hospital, took a nap, etc. Today is a sleepy painful day though, so I'm hoping it starts going a bit better soon.

Pity we can't do groundhog days - and rewind the s*** days back to better ones . . .
