I think this is an amazing idea... At present the technology has been designed specifically for paralyzed athletes who are less able to feel areas of pressure that can cause a serious risk of pressure sores. I sincerely hope that this can eventually be available for all individuals with Spinal Cord Injury as many individuals are enjoying sports and daily activities where pressure is and can be a great risk.
Paraplegic athletes push their bodies to the absolute limit—and sometimes beyond. When an athlete injures a body part he or she can't feel, that can lead to some very dangerous situations. Now, a design team at Imperial College London has an ingenious solution: an athletic suit that uses off-the-shelf pressure sensing film to show where serious impacts have occurred.
Im sure this kind of clothing would be helpful to higher injury levels too. Especially those who potentially suffer with AD from areas of pressure...Most areas of pressure, after all, are at the lower extremities of the body!
