Space is so important for a bedroom..especially wheelers or those on crutches....I love the space in these rooms....Of course some will need a hospital bed...and double beds are available as hospital beds...
Maybe these bedrooms are but i posted them up for ideas. What materials/furniture that are used and what space is available is of course all dependent on budget cbdives. If someone is renevating and adapting their home all creative decisions will come from initial ideas and inspiration...
Yeah Lara...those pics are inspirations. Actaully my bathroom looks a little like one B/R images. But I just dream. I live in a 1400ft2 bungalow only 2 blocks from fom the beach...the bedrooms in those images are nearly the size of my entire house. I do have a pool that I cherish. I know there are people that would give their right arm to live here...tropical climate, beach, lagoon etc. Guess I love my house the way it is!
Spaciousness is lovely even without a wheelchair, but almost necessity with one. As I a downsizing from house to cottage, I am having trouble with exactly this issue. Love the space I have had all these years...but do need to simplify. Lαrα, you seem to like modern, very clean lines. I like my bed to feel like a nest--lots of lightweight blankets with wolf themes, that I can customize in use to achieve just the right temperature! The rest is just to hide stuff, but still make it accessible. One of my friends who is in chair inspired me by sharing images of her dresser replacement and closet space: drawers and hanging space became shelves, much easier to organize from chair.
I do like straight lines wavewolf you are correct..i also like my home to look 'homely' so i like to have a blend of the two. I dont have lots of space here but i do like to get ideas and then fit them in with budget, space etc.
I have a gallery style kitchen which is ok for using when im on my crutches but ideally i want to cook in my chair so this may need to change...
I'll have to post a photo tour of my home soon. I have been making my home more accessible over the last 13 months. I still have 2 rooms to do. One being the bathroom which is nearly unusable in a wheelchair, but not totally inaccessible if the chair is not too wide.
Lαrα, your kitchen is really lovely! I especially like the odd-sized drawers mixed into the cabinets, stainless steel drainer built into the counter, and large window for natural light. But would be disaster in chair...

Yes, i agree about the chair wavewolf! I had my home assessed yesterday for adaptation and the specialist and I were discussing if i wanted wheelchair adaptation for the kitchen or for upright mobility. Its a tricky one to be honest because where as i like to stand, I also feel i would be more independent using my chair.
Thankyou for saying my kitchen is lovely...i do like it..it would be a shame for it to go, if it needed to.
Kitchen is the one place for which I try to save my upright time. So much easier to chop, stir, etc. with arms not having to be held aloft. Also, if you must operate from chair, then roll-under sink and cook-top are wonderful, side-placed faucet at sink so you can reach handles, and bottom freezer with refrigerator on top. Mirror over stove (on expandable arm) to see into pots. Upper cabinets for lightweight stuff only, and accessible with reacher.
