I'm looking for someone who has made a cross-Canada trip since their injury. I'm hoping to make a trip from Toronto to Nova Scotia in the fall for a couple weeks and I'm trying to find accessible accommodations but am having a hell of a time. I want to avoid Montreal at all costs, so I'll probably be looking for a hotel in Fredericton and the Quebec city or Riviere du Loup area. I've done this drive before but I don't really remember the areas that we stopped to rest. If you have any better ideas than mine, feel free to let me know.
Has anyone made this trip before? I just got on the Peristeen system so I'm getting very confident about doing my bowel routine on my own. Mainly what I need is a room with a relatively low toilet, bed, and an accessible shower. Right now I'm looking for my own portable commode to take with me, but I'm open to any suggestions!
Without hard times in life, we would never know the true feeling of happiness.

Hey chris, I haven't done any traveling since I was injured so I don't really have any advice for you. What kinda difficulties are you having with finding accessible hotel rooms?

I'm trying to use those travelocity type of sites but they don't have accessibility as a criteria to help you narrow things down. I'm sure I'll get it figured out but I thought I'd check to see if anyone has any advice for routines/showers while on the road with no psw/nurse.
I'm in the market for some kind of foldable half commode/half bath bench, something like this. As long as I can break it down and put it in my GTI, I'm happy!

As a frequent traveler I can definitely tell you to avoid any hotels that don't know what a shower chair is. Other than that you will find many things that are very interesting and fun. Look for enjoyment and you will find it.
Its about half way depending on where you are going in nova scotia. I live in the maritimes so let me know if i can help further unfortunately have not been there since in my chair but i am sure there would be one of those places with an accessible room
