Lαrα, starting a new thread on accessible locations is an excellent idea and it'll also help dianabaross because she can use the info from here and add it to her website! dianabaross and delboy thanks for the compliments, it's very kind of you two delboy, I think you have hijacked our site! Lara, that's a great idea!
I wouldn't, however, be able to copy information from this site and use it on mine, because I/m not allowed to speak for another person's experience. They would have to go the ATE site and add the info themselves.
Delboy, I know we have different disabilities, but when it comes to accessing a building, we have a lot of the same needs: Parking, access ramps, elevators, restrooms, etc... That's the sort of info i'm hoping people will mention on my site. Then, if there is someone who would like to write a more in-depth review (and they have their own blog) I would be more than happy to link it to the site.
It's time people with disabilities start to be looked at as valuable consumers!

dianabaross...I have added this link to your thread from a posting I have made on the forum..it is in my words so please feel free to copy and paste and add as a new listing on your site also.
Please pm me for any personal info you may need. I did go onto the site but then saw that we can email you and you will add for us so thought i would go for that option so would appreciate if you would do so for me
dianabaross, my fellow Orlandoian I wish there were more sites like the one you posted as I just went through a month long search for an accessible hotel on the Adriatic Coast. After I settled on one particular place, out of more than a hundred places to stay, only one was accessible. I am a planner, so I made sure to call them to confirm that door width and room itself had enough room for a chair and I'm glad I did because they were not sure themselves, so they were so kind to measure the door width, and upgrade us to the most spacious room they had .
I will post pics and impressions upon my return in a few weeks
delboy, now you're giving me ideas to come visit Malta, a friend of mine visited last year and had a blast!

Well Hi! Glad to meet another person from O-town! I'm glad you like the site! Please do let us know how your vacay goes and feel free to add reviews about the places you visit (not just abroad but also here at home too, this way wheelchair users who come visit Orlando, will find your information and know where to go! I understand your thing about being a planner, most us have to do that just to be sure everything works out ok on our trips. But what about those last minute invites to a restaurant or a show? That's why i figured my site would be helpful: for those times when we haven't been able to plan! You can then just look up a place on our website and see what other have said. I have taken to writing reviews about everywhere i go on a daily basis... the Publix by my house, the Fridays we go to for Happy Hour , the salon i go to to cut y hair. Also, think about people who might need to relocate to another city. The accessibility of the local businesses could help the person make a decision. So yeah, WRITE SOME REVIEWS Thank you to Lαrα and DJ for letting me post on here again. You guys are actively other wheelchair users be more active, go more places, enjoy their lives and change stereotypes! Love you guys
What a great site, dianabaross! I have not done much traveling as AB, so traveling now is daunting even to dream about. I will contribute review if I do travel. Have you listed your site in New Mobility Magazine, online resource for active wheelchair users?
