I think this is amazing...i always love to see stories like this because it reinforces that life can go on after Spinal Cord Injury....Paul D'Vorak was able to enjoy his surfing due to his board being specially adapted for him!.
Most surfers would feel nervous about being towed into big, powerful waves in WA's South West.
But quadriplegic Paul D'Vorak, who has no movement below his armpits, cannot wait to get back out there.
Despite the incredible risks, the 41-year-old former champion surfer who now uses a specially designed board, has played down the courage involved.
Before his first surf at the bombie behind the Gallows break near Margaret River, the wind was not good and others wanted to call it off, but D'Vorak would not hear it.
He took off on his first wave and used his shoulders to turn down the line, but at the end of the ride, he found himself deep inside the danger zone.
