I thought i would start this thread off with the visit that DJ and I made to the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls, Ontario. We had a lovely time and both DJ and I found it very accessible. It was tried and tested as I was on crutches and DJ was in his chair.
The conservatory had wheelchair access and the ground leading up to the entrance was even with not too far away from the car park. Once inside the Conservatory it was all on one level, the flooring was flat and even.
I was pleased to find that there were benches to sit on along the pathway that led through the Conservatory so i could walk and rest along the way.
Its a beautiful place to visit with so many exotic species of butterflies that can be seen in a natural, tropical environment.

Wow Lara, sounds like a really cool place to visit. I've never been to Canada! I feel like it's always cold up there! (i've become such a wuss since living in Florida for so many years )
Niagara Falls is the most stunning place I have ever been to..it is just breathtaking. It is located in Ontario at the border of Canada and NewYork-USA
DJ and I spent two days here .... I decided to use his manual chair whilst he used his power chair as it seemed too far for me to walk on my crutches . The Falls can be viewed easily from a promenade that is is facing the waterfalls. The promenade stretches along an approximate 250/300 meters in length. I found it very easy to push along as it was an even, flat surface and wide enough to not feel i was having to wheel around busy groups of people.
I was impressed to see that there was no shortage disable drop off/pick up points that were perfectly situated to allow the ramp down of the van. This made it very easy to access the van from the walkway.

Do you have any photographs?
I will take a look at the pics that If any are suitable..i mostly took a video...but it is truly, just a beautiful experience ...I also thought Canada was a cold country so i was surprised to find that the summers there are very hot!
Lαrα, Niagara Falls was great and so was the butterfly conservatory! One thing to note is that once you're inside the actual conservatory you have to walk/wheel in an inclined path which may get tiring but there are benches like Lαrα mentioned which'll really help those that walk. I'd recommend chair users like myself to use a power chair if possible and if you're using a manual, have someone to help push you if needed. Other then that, it's a great place everyone should visit!
