I read on facebook about this gorgeous little boy who was 3 years old and had a fall. He is now an incomplete quad..at C1,2 and 3...and vented...WTH
I cant understand why such a young life would be afflicted with this awful injury...its badly wrong and sad.
He developed his injury from a fall, you just wouldnt think a fall for a toddler could be so dangerous....I went on to look at a little research and found that other than being born with spinal defects the most common cause of SCI in children is due to falling.
Then its motor vehicles and being knocked over....how crazy!
That is so heartbreaking. The statistics really surprised me--toddlers fall all the time, but I guess a whack on the head with bones not totally hardened can injure the cord more easily.

Oh this little guy is so adorably cute wavewolf but he is lying there with a vent and nappy on and i just dont get it. Why when this is what he will most likely ever know as 'normal' for him for possibly the rest of his life, he should be toddling about in wonder at the world at this age.
I know some may think that he has potential for cure but i just hope, for his sake that its realistic There is no cure for the major diseases and serious conditions, there is hope only. Yes, there is scientific progress and of course success will always be promoted because the money needs to continue to roll in.
wavewolf, not only did I see the kids in their caskets, I picked them up from the place of death, washed and dressed them and then put them in their casket. Just got over it and when I had a run of 9 kids in two weeks, that was enough for me.

Cannot imagine that. You are tough, but you have a tender heart. Being a father... Can you imagine the horrors of children killed in wars? I think of these displaced people, many children, in the Middle East and how they are freezing to death after escaping so many horrors, and I am heartbroken.
