My grandmother used to make golden milk for our breakfast, sort of the way most Americans drink orange juice. I make it now, fresh each morning, with cow, almond, or coconut milk. Very important to not let it boil over, as it stains ridiculously! I add sesame and Udo's oils also, for same reasons as this Dr. gave. I use 4g curcumin extract standardized, and drink half before breakfast and half before dinner. The heating ( I don't "cook" mine, just heat to warm before drinking) and addition of lipids is to make the curcumin (concentrated of turmeric) more bioavailable. I was part of a study using this for treatment of RA, and I will do this for life! My grandmother gave me a wonderful head start... By reducing inflammation, pain is also reduced. The only downside for SCI is that if you have a urine mishap, your wetness will have a bright orange color--kind of announces it!
