Well, I have a really hard time waking up during the night to empty my bladder. Half the time I turn the alarm off without waking up properly and the other 90% of the time, I don't even hear the alarm. I just put a disposable PK under me and clean up in the morning. In general my kidneys sleep throughout the night pretty well though. It is mornings when they are in overdrive. Good job I don't take diuretics also!! I figure that before I never woke up in the night to go to the bathroom (well maybe twice or three times a year). I am also careful to not drink as much in the evenings.
I used to catheter about 1 am in the morning so i would at least get a few hours sleep sherry. This is the problem with having no sensation in our bladder. It dosent feel remotely uncomfortable for me to have a full bladder.
Sometimes i have cathed at night, had bad spams and then needed to clean up everything, that isnt fun when your half asleep either lol
My Autonomic Dysreflexia wakes me up a few times a night whenever my bladder wants to empty itself and its kinda annoying but sometimes I sleep right through them.
You see, DJ and Lαrα, I slept through the alarm again last night. A friend of mine has a daughter who was born pretty deaf and at night she removes her hearing aids. To wake up in the morning when her husband isn't there, she has a vibrator (yes a vibrator) under her mattress or pillow (I forget which) to wake her up. He told me I should do that. I didn't know you could put a timer on them.
Are any of you out there using her technique to wake up during the night?
sherry I've never heard of that before but if it works that's great! As far as sensation, do you have enough to feel if it goes off? Lαrα's suggestion on the automatic light is a good one as well so there's another option.

sherry, I actually heard that there is a timer that has a light designed to light up onto the person who needs to wake? Its meant to be very effective and maybe worth a try?
