It is no mystery that individuals living with SCI can struggle with UTI's. To help out our clients, we have done some research at Walk It Off to determine some ways to help ward off the dreaded UTI. Believe it or not, diet can play a large role in preventing UTI's!
We have found that maintaining a diet high in protein, zinc, and vitamins A, C and E are good steps to take towards good bladder health. Some examples of foods that are high in these ingredients are: chicken, nuts, carrots, sweet potatoes, strawberries and olives.

Excellent post rebeccawio, I consider myself very lucky having only suffered one UTI in the 2 and a half years since my injury, but it took nearly 3 months to clear it up. as DJ says, it's very important to keep UTI's at bay.
