Sure DJ, It is know to cause Psychosis and schizophrenia and long term memory loss. I'm not saying it is of no use when it comes to pain management or helping with nerve pain. But it also has risks.

You can make stupid mistakes while high. It's not near as dangerous as alcohol in my opinion, but accidents can still happen. I'm not interested in debating whether it's harmful or not. I'm just saying lyrica works better for me. If pot stopped my shocks I'd be smoking it with a silly grin on my face. Even with all the stigma that comes with it.

I KNEW it!!! I kept telling my neurologist's DNP that the Lyrica made me feel nuts! She ignored me! Also, my brother was put on Neurontin a few weeks ago and was SEVERELY depressed and "out of it!" I told him to throw it out!
One of our members, recently brought an article to my attention on the safety of Lyrica. I didn't want to post the article that was sent to me until I had taken a look at the advices that are on the net. Now that I have spent a little time doing this, i thought it would be a good idea to post some of the results up. Of course, if you are concerned and taking Lyrica then please contact your medical practitioner or spinal unit if they still oversee your care.
This is an extract from the article below.
Neurontin and its newer more potent version, Lyrica, are widely used for off-label indications that are an outright flagrant danger to the public. These blockbuster drugs were approved for use even though the FDA had no idea what they actually did in the brain.
A shocking new study shows that they block the formation of new brain synapses1, drastically reducing the potential for rejuvenating brain plasticity – meaning that these drugs will cause brain decline faster than any substance known to mankind.
The problem of these drugs is compounded by their flagrant illegal marketing. Neurontin was approved by the FDA for epilepsy back in 1994.
The drug underwent massive illegal off-label promotion that cost Warner-Lambert 430 million dollars (the very first big fine for off-label promotion). The drug is now owned by Pfizer. Pfizer also owns Lyrica, a super-potent version of Neurontin. It has been approved by the FDA for various types of pain and fibromyalgia. Lyrica is one of four drugs which a subsidiary of Pfizer illegally marketed, resulting in a $2.3 billion settlement against Pfizer.
This article does seem a few years old, i should mention..Its worth considering everything and also do your own reasearch!
It is important not to panic or worry if you are taking Lyrica but instead talk to a professional, It is very important to not just stop taking the drug either as this may cause you to have serious affects.

It would be nice to have the option to just throw it out. If you can do that my guess is you don't need it. Luckily I was "nuts" and "depressed" before I started, so I didn't even notice.
Pot is no magic cure all. It may work for some, not all.
I would rather get relief from Lyrica than do jail time, as Pot is illegal in my state, they are trailing it in NSW and Vic I believe but not here. And the side effects of pot can be very devastating as well.
You are right there, Butiki. Because my disease is attacking my brain, my family doctor does not want me to even consider medical MJ if it were to become legal here. It demonstrably damages the brain over continued use, more so if high PCP content.
