My feet are so curved over that I can't put shoes on properly anymore. I was doing really well but had quite a severe pressure sore which saw me in bed for 6 months. I'm now wearing just socks in my chair which is not ideal for me. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, can you suggest what I might be able to do to help this situation. Thanks!
Hi ange63,im real sorry to hear of your problem and i know exactly how you feel because i have the same issue. My left foot is worse than the right.
I completely struggle to get shoes to fit and often socks too. I was fitted for special supports for the soles of my feet in the hope it helps. I also have someone come and stretch my ankles and massage my toes etc.
Maybe it would be a good time to get an appointment with your spinal unit or docs to discuss your feet.
Hi ange63! have you seen Ruth about this issue??? I'm certain that she would know how to deal with this issue. This is one thing that I'm paranoid about. So far so good for me.
Hello Ange, Sorry to hear about your feet. I have found that "Slip on" soft shoes and sneakers have helped me. They don't put heavy marks into my skin and keep the foot from turning. I use a very short thin sock. I am not sure if you have Kols department stores by you, they carry a lot of nice slip-ons for dress and casual wear. I wish you well. Best Regarsds, Joe
Thanks everyone. Lαrα, I'm sure you understand, as a woman, how frustrating it is. I tend to wear "ballet" flats but still struggle to keep these on. I'm sorry you have the same problem. Butiki, Ruth isn't my doctor and the doctor I did see at Hampstead is no longer there. I haven't been there for 6 years. I think I will go to the foot clinic through Disability SA. Hopefully they will suggest something. joemonte, thanks for the tips and well wishes.

I have shoe issues too and avoiding pressure sores etc makes it impossible for find cute desirable shoes. A middle aged woman should never be forced to wear ugly frumpy shoes.....lol
Do you walk? I have to order Mary Janes with my braces otherwise I couldn't keep them on because of my footdrop.
If all else fails, lots of my friends wear UGG boots/shoes with lambskin inside. Pricey but keeps the feet safe
Thanks acrobatinmydreams, I'll have a look. I don't walk. I have no movement in my legs at all. I have got some ugg boots but find it hard to get them onto my "curved" feet. My daughter is getting married and my biggest worry is what shoes will I wear!
