Well, life for Carsten and I now has started to form a new normal for us, one morning when things were a little strained between us he said in a moment of anger I wish I could have someone else but you.
I set some time aside to talk to him about what he said, and the idea of getting him a carer to do his morning routine once or twice a week to give him a break from me.
So we talked about how it might work, he insists it has to be a guy not a girl, so I have contacted a couple of agencies, neither of them had anyone male that's also skilled at working with children. But did agree to advertise to find someone.
Which has also got me to thinking about offering a nursing student a room and board in our home in exchange for a few short shifts with Carsten a week. Obviously not before a police check and reference checks.
But it does lead me to the idea of workers insurance, what happens in the case of an accident.
I know laws are different all over, but has anyone had a live in carer under a similar arrangement?
