I am due for a new chair...I have had two Ti ZRAs. I'd like to try a carbon fibre chair...any feedback? And I am very easy on my chairs, no rough and tumbles. Thanks for any particulars...padd
Hello Padd, I was in a ZRA for six years and switched to the Tilite TR3. I really like it much better. More compact and easier to turn and lighter. You might want to try one. I went to an expo a couple years ago and tried many chairs out. ICON was one but I didn't like their front caster system. I live in a rural area and need the front suspension with 4" caster wheels. It was fun trying various wheelchairs out. There are so many options any more. Wish you well and best of luck.
Thanx Joemonte...the Icon was a possibility. Normally you can trial chairs thru the supp;ier for a few days, but not with carbon. Too easily damaged. I will look at the TR3
Welcome padd! I'm due for a new chair next summer and still have not decided what I want to get. I currently have a TiLite ZRA and like it but if I can get a lighter one, why not!?
The Tis, yes, but not the Icon...Motion sells the Veloce but not the Icon...
I didn't realize you were from the area, I only realized when you mentioned Motion haha! Well that's interesting because I normally get my equipment through Motion so it's good to know what my options are with them. I'm not a big fan of the Veloce, doesn't have that nice low profile look like my ZRA in my opinion. The Icon looks interesting, there's gotta be some vendor that'll allow us to try it out!
Hmmm...I think we are same area. Thanx for the description re the Veloce profile. I like a chair to look as streamlined and good as possible. I need to find out if Icon is even ADP approved. And I do have the Smart Drive (I think)-I just haven't put it on yet-not sure it is transferable to another chair.

Hey padd, I have an appointment with Motion next week so I'll try to remember asking them if the Icon can be ADP approved. I also have the smart drive and they are certainly transferable from one chair to another! There's only a small attachment on your camber tube that needs to be moved over to the new camber tube and if for whatever reason it's not the right size, the vendor should be able to get one for pretty cheap.
Thnx DJ...I don't know when I am seeing Motion again. I also need to do a complete detailing and tune-up of my chair now-I wish there were independent people to do that. I haven't found Motion too helpful there
padd, if money is no object, try the Panthera X, see it at www.panthera-x.com/. When I demoed that, I cried because I felt as if I were walking again, it just felt so natural and smooth. I could lift it easily with one hand, wheels and seat still on! So transport would be a breeze. Not a chair for banging around, but if you are gentle as you say, might be the one for you. Icon is a great chair, too. TR3 definitely worth a tryout.

I need to do that for my chair as well. It looks like I'm going to need new tires and new casters (without caster locks!!!) and just a general maintenance. I don't know of anyone that does that - sounds like a good business opportunity now that you mention it!

I can't view the link from my iPad, must be the way they designed the site but I'll check back using my laptop later. From what you're saying it seems like it'd be worth considering it! Thanks for the suggestion wavewolf
EDIT: Upon a quick google search of "Panthera X Wheelchair" I found other sites with some info on it and wow is it nice! Only 10 lbs too?? Even I can lift that! I have to try one out!
padd, sizing and options are limited, but the lightness and balance are superb. Cost is very high, but they designed it to be the best possible. And it is utterly beautiful, a work of art.
