Hello all, after my fall now will be a year! I'm t12 but I am noticing how my recovery and healing is coming together. My bowels are now back too normal! I'm no longer using hoist but a sliding board, no carhertars now a urine bottle. I can now feel hot and cold down my legs and feet! I feel I have gained a lot and do feel will more help I will stand or even walk again. Never lose hope I would say.
Hi guys more movement now like movement and spasms! I hope that's a good sign!
Yes, it's a very good sign!! The spasticity is pounding you 24/7. Thus, your muscles are already tired leaving weak. This makes the effort to move more difficult and exhausting. What you'll notice is being stronger after each cycle of moving and resting. This is year 3 for me and I'm still making progress. Best advice given to me is to listen to my body. It will tell me when I can go for it and when to give it a rest.
Never say never, for sure jb! Time is a great healer and it's true with nerve regeneration. The problem is that we sometimes do not realize the degree of return we have , especially with it being so slow.
This is why a journal is helpful too. I know that some individuals with SCI gain very little function, especially when the cord is severed and high level but it really is surprising how improvements can come.
