That's great news butiki! Do you keep close track of what you eat? I keep a record of my meals, supplements, and output (quantity and consistency) every day. Also any accidents. It can be difficult to figure out what causes what, and the record helps me a lot. Maybe a record would help you too. I'm scheduled for a colostomy in mid-December, and I'm sure I'll need to continue the record of my diet to manage that well, at least for a few months. The nurse from Craig Hospital is being trained right now on Peristeen, but I think it will be too late for me. It's ok. I have other reasons the colostomy should be better for me anyway.

Great idea with keeping track of food intake and when accidents happen dnvrdave! I think it's a habit everyone should get into (including myself) and should help pinpoint what our body likes and doesn't like. Also, I really still do hope you can try out the Peristeen before the colostomy but if you're ok with the colostomy that's ok too
Well the good news is that it works for me, apart from drinking and eating a few things that don't agree with me, peanuts, mushrooms, squid and curry, I have not had an accident in just over a month It has given me the confidence to get out and enjoy life again. It's funny I didn't realize that those foods didn't agree with me before I started on this system because I spent my life sitting in poo and didn't know the difference. So now I'm learning what to avoid and I should be right. I still wear contenance pads sometimes during the day and always at night, just until I'm 100% sure of what's happening in that department.
Butiki...this is real positive to hear. It makes such a difference to your life being able to have that control back over your bowels... ..im sure the reassurance and confidence will come over time...good for you
Disaster this morning, the screw on cap on the top of the bag cracked and it won't pump the water. Been in touch with the supplier and they doing their best to overnight me a new one.

I got in touch with coloplast today and they are sending me a replacement cap and 2 catheters that where faulty, unfortunately my medical supply company never got back to me so I had to get this done myself.
