Oh, so it isn't an allergic reaction, Knight? I was going to ask if the ink was somehow different from that used in your other tattoos. That's actually good news, I would think, in case you have others planned, right?
Hobbit...YOWZA! Even without pain, that made me flinch! (And I wouldn't be able to feel it, either.) It reminds me of a time my leg fell off the side of the bed while I was sleeping. Didn't know it, of course, and I guess I was probably having spasms from the discomfort, but it didn't wake me. Woke in the morning to find my foot had become stuck in the spokes in my wheelchair, and one of the spokes had cut into the skin right between my two little toes!! Bad cut, kind of deep. Couldn't feel it, but I felt so bad for my poor little foot! Took a long time to heal, too. And that's why I sleep with a pillow between the bed and my chair now. ☺️

Live and learn, eh?
Yikes, even that makes me cringe! It's so strange but I take care of my lower body too much. When I'm showing I just assume that my legs are cold since I can't actually feel them and I end up holding the shower head with warm water to my legs. Meanwhile, I can feel my upper body and knows it's cold but nope, gotta make sure the legs aren't cold lol.
Haha...but DJ, that's a good thing! (Funny, though, that you sort of leave your top half to fend for itself!)
I used to be very stubborn about things, like I harbored a grudge against my lower half, so I wouldn't wear shoes, didn't take other precautions to protect my legs, etc. And of course I've broken most of the bones in my feet and have had terrible burns on my legs as some of the results.
I wear shoes and keep a tray on my lap while cooking and do whatever I can to protect my legs now. 'Cause I'm a grownup. I guess. 😂

When I was first injured and in the hospital, an aide covered up my upper torso but left my leg and foot completely uncovered, and she left...and the room was very cold. When I finally realized --because I was miserably cold--that my leg was uncovered, I tried to cover it up but had a hard time of it. (Remember that this was just weeks after the accident, and I couldn't sit up or manage my body yet.) Later, the aide came back and I told her that she'd left my leg uncovered and it was cold. Her response was, "Well, you can't feel anything in it anyway." Isn't that just horribly rude and ignorant?
On the subject of tattoos, my response may not be popular or welcome, but out of concern for my fellow paralytics, I will voice a warning against tattoos. The 'alternative therapy' advice is, "Don't get tattoos. The dyes seep constantly into your vital organs."
One of the girls I know had a bad rta & smashed up a leg - healed with a lot of scarring. Has since had the whole leg sleeved, and healed well, I guess it can depend on the tattooist as well as aftercare . .
I wanted to get my mom and dad names tattooed big and fancy on my back. Knight experience and vintage advice terrifies me.
How tough will it be dealing with MRIs later? Can we check if Ink would soak into skin properly without infections or side effects, prior to getting tattooed?
Noob here. Forgive my ignorance if I sound too stupid.
