I've had some small red spots on my feet since last weekend. It kinda looks like small splotches of blood under the skin scattered around the feet. I'm not sure what it is or what could have caused it. Anyone have any ideas?
No DJ, I don't know what causes them, but I get something similar and they seem to come and go. I've never asked my doctor or nurse about them because they don't bother me, but I'm seeing my doctor on Wednesday so I will ask

Thanks Butiki! I've been meaning to go see my doctor but it's hard to find time with my school schedule.
Yes , I would be curious to find out also. I get them too.I also get what feels like bugs crawling through my veins. Also severe shocking pains, plus cramps. The pain from some of these both can last for days.I guess this would be the afternoon affects.

tj the spots have seemed to go away on their own but I'm still not sure what they were. I'm still trying to find time to see my doctor haha. I'll let you know once I do see my doctor!
My dr told me yesterday that it was probably due to circulaton issues that I have , due to the Periphial artertery disease that I have. Actually yesterday during some testing the room was very cold and my toes on my left foot looked as though they were turning black. But after I left the vascular surgeons office and my feet warmed back up they had turned back to normal. So my spots are as a result of the circulation and thats pretty much all that I got out of it.

That's interesting tj. I have been sitting in my chair for longer periods now that I'm in university so perhaps all the blood is pooling at the feet and not circulating properly and as a result causes the spots? The only thing with that is that it should have gone away when I get into bed an have my feet up but they didn't go away for a week.

I think that maybe sometimes the Dr's tell us a simple answer just to appease us, just because maybe they don't have a real answer.

I'm not a doctor, but I play one on the internet. 😄
I don't know if I'm visualizing what you describe correctly, but if I am, I wonder if it could have been broken capillaries? Again, I'm not medically trained, but it makes sense to me that a high volume of fluid in your veins (edema) might cause some to burst, creating small spots, kind of like bruising, and that you would see them for about a week. Spending more time in your chair could certainly cause that, especially if your diet in that time included more processed foods (more sodium) and even more coffee. I know that would have applied to me in the first weeks of a new school year, or any time of transition, really.
My feet often take an almost purplish hue by the end of the day. I hate it. Doesn't look so great with sandals! 😜

That certainly seems like what it could have been! Being in University I spend a longer time in my chair without any movement in my feet by spasms since I've velcroed my feet to my food rest and admittedly I have been eating more junk food.
Is it bad that it happened? There isn't any kinda permanent damage or complications that can arise from that is there?
To be honest, I don't know. But I don't *think* so. At least nothing immediate. That said, I suspect regular edema might weaken those veins. For me, it hasn't been a huge problem, at least not that I know about. But circulation issues can be problematic, so I think you should at least mention it to your doctor next time you see her or him. And in the meantime, you might try compression socks, especially when you know you'll be in your chair for a long time.
And I should totally practice what I preach! LOL ...I'm a terrible example!
I don't take very good care of my legs or feet, and while they swell, they haven't killed me or anybody else yet, so.... 🤓
