They will take up a lot of room as they get bigger too. And each plant needs a lot of light also. My brother used to use grow lamps and he put aluminum foil around the plants so that all of the plant would get the light. They are looking good Sam.

I'm doing the basics as a test to see how much attention they need to be successful. no grow lights, just sunlight so far and a lamp for about 5 hrs at night, that's all and just started using liquid fertilizer about 2 weeks ago. I now water every other day about 3 or 4 ozs per plant each time

I'm interested in how this goes for you Sam. I've tried this myself and never ended up with more than a few leaves after my stems folded over. I admit I don't have a green thumb.
I'm definitely no expert on growing. But my brother and my brother in law were. I know that my brother in law kept extensive detailed notes , had all of the growing and cultivating books. He passed away 15 years ago. But I know that those types of books are out there and we're quite helpful to them both. I know that they each had humidifiers and grow lights, they were really into it whole hog so to speak. I believe that they both even made their own soil mixtures, bone meal, blood meal, that kind of stuff. My brother in law also played music , like Bach, and such so many hours a day for the plants, yes they were his babies. However we live in the Midwest, I guess that they were firm believers in creating the best environment for their babies. Where you live , your state has a lot more better weather than Illinois or Iowa does for such plants. The growing season here isn't as long as where you are. Thanks for the updates , I am still interested in how they do for you.

I'm in Texas. I don't have epilepsy. And I obey the law. So I won't get to meet any little marijuana plants any time soon. In fact, in Texas, even people with epilepsy have to try out two different drugs...that DON'T work...before they are allowed to get medical marijuana. No wonder people with epilepsy move to another state.
...QUALIFYING MEDICAL CONDITIONS Intractable epilepsy is the only condition that qualifies. Intractable epilepsy is defined as a seizure disorder in which the patient’s seizures have been treated by two or more appropriately chosen and maximally titrated antiepileptic drugs that have failed to control the seizures....
Our government is so behind the times. The problem is the politicians are either too deep in the pockets of big Pharma or they haven't figured out a way to make money off of legalizing it for themselves. And with the power that we let them yield we have to remember one thing, power like they have can corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. They tell us what we want to hear when they run for office and then do absolutely what they want to do. I never used to be so cynical, however after watching what they do, for almost 60 years, has made me lean this way.
they are getting strong and starting to attract insects to themselves?
just found out the other day that many medical cannabis stores are selling to 21 in age or over in California now without drs note for use
Sam, what a great project. And these look like they've grown beautifully in just over a month, especially without too much artificial light. From what I know on the subject (which isn't much, of course, because cannabis only just became legal in the state of mass, too - cough, cough) you'll need to keep those insects away. If there are small webs in between the leaves spray on some neem oil. These spider mites can damage the plants.
Again, I'm no expert, but I think if you look it up you'll find that the most difficult part for growing indoors is getting the water PH correct. I can't tell you how much it will impact the plant. It's easy to correct using baking soda and lemon juice, but important to check if you're using tap or bottled water. You can find lots of online info with more accurate details. Apart from that, they're weeds and pretty easy to grow. Harvesting is the most difficult part. You'll need to harvest at just the right time to get the potency - too soon or too late and you might have a dud. If you can find someone knowledgeable, have them help you determine what the crystals should look like at harvest time. You might also want to look at buying clones for your next grow. They're easier to start than seed and you can usually buy them on craigslist in legal states (or now that you've grown a strain, you might be able to sell your own!).
As for spasticity, mine is non-existant now. No more baclofen. You're right that indica strains are more for relaxation and pain than sativa, but from what I know both will work for spacticity -- a little bit every evening. It doesn't take a lot. You can also find some great herb cookbooks on Amazon. Herb butter on toast?
