The above article holds some very interesting details of what Exoskeleton creators are thinking about future models. Some freely admit what many of us have said over the last years- the present constructions are too big, clunky, and limited to be desirable for most of us. They design in new directions to address the needs and desires of a much broader segment than just paralyzed people.
The best model i have seen so far is the Rewalk made by the Israeli company Argo. i do believe the new models can be made more slick and even worn under clothing. While the promo looks nice, i have yet to see how one enters/exits a car or does toileting wearing the suit. the main issue is that it is also very over priced and also has a specialised maintenance/ repair sole trader issue. As i explained to their agents lowering the price will make it more accessible. All in all it will increase their profits too. btw the new model 6.0 for personal use is tagged at 80,000 euro, in my opinion its insanely high, 10,000 to 15000 would be more appropriate and yes profitable to.
Good to hear that they're thinking of making these more practical! Personally though I'd probably use these during physiotherapy but I can't see myself walking around with it on a daily basis. Maybe if I tried it I'd like it but it just feels like it'd be really unnatural feeling.
