Well, as many of you know, I have been really sick for the past 2 weeks. I had a lingering cough that was so bad I felt like throwing up and sometimes couldn't even breathe. I decided to go to the hospital and the doctor wanted me to get an x-ray of my lungs since he couldn't hear anything in my left lung which is usually a sign of heavy mucus buildup or pneumonia. After the x-ray they saw that there was stuff inside the left lung which meant that I had pneumonia. I was prescribed antibiotics for it as well as puffers. I started taking it last night so hopefully it goes away soon since it's really affecting my ability to pay attention in class.
Oh the joys of having a spinal cord injury and the weakened lung muscles...
Thanks everyone! Had to take the day off school today which I'm not happy about but oh well, health before education is the most sensible option I guess lol.
Don't know if this effected your health DJ, but oh how i hate winter. Ours is relatively mild with temperature ranging from 12 to 16 cel but yes i hate it. Dark early, windy and not much places to go to. the sun energises both my body and my mind.
Saturday is always a good solution to my health problems, tonight its our pub night, good booze, fast food, loud music and great company with family and friends. Guess pic says it all. Sunday's our chill out day. Terrible Monday's a dread. No wonder Bob Geldof wrote a song about shooting it down. Enjoy your Saturday's DJ. and a get well soon with a hug from me and a kiss from her from this side of the world.
Nasty stuff, especially with cervical sci. I had it once when I was 17...used to have chronic sinus infections. Everyday I woke up and vomited...just with sinus. Eventually, one went really bad. I remember coughing up literally 12 ounces of mucus an hour. I was at a friend's house and she was grossed out beyond belief. Went to the Doctor and spent the nest month in her parents' bed (no idea where they slept). Her mother woke me up every 8 hours to drink broth and take pills. I didn't have SCI then and I got out of bed to use the loo. These things can get nasty fast. Take care of yourself first and foremost. the class for now. Never underestimate infection. MHO. All the best,
It's been a few days since I started the antibiotics and I'm feeling a lot better now thankfully. Still got the cough but it's nowhere near as bad as it was before. Hope it'll be completely gone this week!
Crepe, sorry to hear that, hope he feels better and try not to get sick yourself!
delboy, I hate the winter too. It's been kinda mild here ranging from -10 C to 5 C but I too have not been getting enough sun exposure which normally energizes and strengthens me.
outlier, that must have been an awful time for you. Two weeks was hard enough for me I can't imagine how you dealt with that was so long! I never thought I'd get pneumonia or something of the sort but I did and the lesson I learned was to see to Doctor earlier.
