I found this by accident but thought UK people might like to know that Centre Parcs do adapted accommodation - WITH ELECTRIC BEDS! Holiday accommodation with electric beds is so hard to find in the UK. Many places advertised as accessible have nothing more helpful than a ramp and maybe some grab rails in the bathroom. Peter doesn't use a wheelchair full time but he does need an electric bed, so this is exciting for us.
I'm on a roll now - my head is whizzing with accessible villas, equipment hire and all the things needed for a wheelie holiday. www.disabledaccessholidays.com/default.asp
Apologies if this site is already on here but I was so excited by it, I thought I'd share. They bring together worldwide wheelchair friendly villas and hotels with useful info about the area too and they offer accessible transfers from the airport. But the "extra" that got me salivating is that they work with an equipment hire company and you can hire things like electric beds etc if the accommodation hasn't got any. For newbies to booking accessible holidays like me this represents a nice safety net. They also inspect all the properties so you can be sure that you won't travel several thousand miles to a place that isn't what it says it is. I'm looking at the apartments in Puerto Pollensa Majorca for a late September holiday.
