I have noticed that younger doctors (especially specialists) don't greet you when they enter the exam room. They either sit down or stand then peruse their tablet or notebook looking up your records. They often don't even ask how you are feeling?
I have asked my friends if they have noticed this as well and they say it happens to them too. Most blame the fact that this newer generation has difficulty with face to face interactions. Some will go through a whole day without actually speaking to someone directly for more than an hour. They message everyone even if that person sits right next to them at work or home.
thankfully I've not had that experience. My GP is from Paraguay- very face to face guy. My urologist is an ass, but he talks to me. He discounts what I say, but he looks at me- maybe he is not so young? 40something. If you can keep shopping, Califanna. My sympathy.
I step in the water, but the water has moved on...

I have been shopping but I live where the biggest issue is acceptance of insurance. Times are rough right now in that arena and I am worried that if they change the pre-existing clause it will get even tougher.
My middle-aged urologist ignored what I said...and that was 40 years ago. Nursing home doctors are in a whole different universe...whether young or old. (Eye roll) But my osteopath primary care physician is a wonderful human being. He is middle-aged...since that's what we are talking about.
califanna I don't know if it's the fact that they don't know how to converse with someone face to face or if it's just an ego thing. I'm thinking the latter!
