I'm T5 complete and have been for almost 12 years...spasms have generally been ok, have the odd painful one in my core where it arches my back and really hurts as it squeezes so tightly but they weren't frequent...
In the last 2 weeks I have been having similar spasms but much worse, they crush my ribs really tightly and I have a tight band around my upper abdomen, it is literally agony...comparable to a root canal or when I broke my back in the first place...they're happening every night to the extent I am scared to go to sleep as I know it's going to happen...
I am also really bloated and feeling uncomfortable in my stomach and think I may have a bit of a UTI which probably doesn't help....
Anyone else experienced this? What tends to be the cause?
The causes are almost always illness. Where is the $64,000 question. Get your urine checked and think carefully about your diet and bowel program. Even if nothing has changed your body may have changed it's response to something you have eaten without problem for many years. Get your urine checked first. If you normally try to handle infection by greater care of your diet and/or other ways of supporting your immune system, do those things.
Bloating causes me no end of spastic responses and it has taken me years to nail down causes and adjust my eating. Infection cranks up the general level of muscle tone and spasticity to cause much more pain than those blessed periods when I am infection free.
I think you may be right, as I've also been having back/kidney pain and noticed blood in my urine. I don't have a fever or anything, which I normally associate with a bad UTI...

it's been my experience, that the longer you wait, the worst it gets. For me, a fever won't kick in until later. Keep us posted.
