Recently, I was made aware of miraculous results from having therapy with Ken Bryant, Neurologic Rehab Therapist located in Largo, Florida. Has anyone on this site received his services and what results did you receive with his therapy?
I am skeptical of anyone, patient or therapist, claiming miraculous results. Anyone claiming to give or receive such results is participating in faith healing. If you think that could work for you give it a try.
The guy has been around a long time and if anyone else could duplicate his results, it would be verified by now. He does reflexology, or that was his jumping off place. Any of us would like to believe we walk on water, This fellow is a registered massage therapist, as am I. Since he's found a way to make $150/hr at it, maybe he does walk on water.
Hello..... I just came back to PA. Took my brother that has been paralyzed for 7 years due to a swimming pool accident ... all I can say is UNBELEIVABLE.... ken had my brothers paralyzed body moving in less than 10 min . I have videos to prove it... I can see my brother walking in less than 6 months. Ken is a great guy.... WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE... follow my brothers progress on Jamming for digger page... you will see the videos that I took.
Hi Rox. Welcome. What was your brother’s level of injury? You are apparently talking about the healing methods of Ken Bryant. When yyou say that he had your brother’s paralyzed body moving in less than ten minutes, are you maybe talking about just triggering spasticity?
I see at the link Tetra gave us (above) to CareCure that the person who posted in favor of Ken Bryant’s method only posted once and never came back to that forum for further discussion. Of course, the people over there were very rude about the subject, so that could be the reason that Ken Bryant’s advocate didn’t post again.
I have a huge aversion to using facebook. I don’t want to sign in in order to see the site. Is your video available online elsewhere,...without signing in?

Off topic- I’m seeing that Mark Zuckerberg will be answering questions tomorrow, and I’m patting myself on the back for having avoided Facebook whenever possible.

Vintage, you are so much more polite than me...people like Rox just make me annoyed..... I had an old friend who I havent spoken with for over 15 years call me up recently and during our conversation she started to tell me how some liquid drink would help me (tried to tell me that it had got a paralysed person walking again) ...I asked her to be respectful of me, that I am the best that I can be, but she just wouldnt stop, in the end I told her that I didnt want to talk with her anymore and I hung up... at least with my old friend, she was genuinely wanting to help even though misguided.
As for Ken Bryant.....I dont see what the difference is to what he's doing compared to Project Walk? Back when I broke my neck, there was no Project Walk or anything similar to help the few SCI's who may walk again.... after checking out of rehab 3 months early because my family and I werent happy with the care I was getting, it was my Mum who found a physiotherapist who had worked with stroke victims, she was the one who helped me walk again. There is no miraculous treatment for getting improvement, no miraculous healing hands, its a matter of messages getting past the injured site and trying to get muscles working which are weak and if one isnt a complete, then there is a chance of maybe getting some improvement especially in the earlier days of an injury but as we all know, every SCI is different so there no rhyme nor reason to who will get any improvement or how much improvement there is to be gained.

Thanks for this link Tetra.....I found this reply post from Dr Wise Young in that thread, I think he explains it well to what is probably happening with the people who Ken Bryant sees
A C5 level usually means that your C5 level is intact. C4 controls the deltoids and you have pretty good deltoids. C5 innervates primarily the biceps and you indeed seem to have good biceps. Both are consistent with a C5 level and an injury involving C5 and C6. C6 innervates the wrist extensors. I couldn't see from your video but your wrist extensors don't seem to be normal. Likewise, while you may have some movement of your triceps, they appear weak. This is of course not to say that you have not improved from the treatment. You seem to have pretty good torso control.
What I am puzzled by is what Ken Bryant is doing during the one and half hours of therapy that he charges. I have read Mary Jane's description of how he treated her son and it seems that he was trying to get the patient to move a specific muscle at a time. Many times, people with spinal cord injury may not know what they can do and have never been encouraged to do it. It seems to me that he is helping people discover what they can do in terms of activating muscle. This may be useful but I am not sure that most people would call this "recovery" or a "cure".
It would seem to me that helping people discover what they can do with their muscles is worthwhile but something that most physical therapist can do and probably many do. From Mary Jane's description, it is clear that Ken Bryant is a charismatic therapist who is a good teacher and understands muscles. I am not sure what he is doing to restore function other than to determine what the patient can do and encouraging the patient to exercise those muscles more. However, that may be useful in itself.
I have examined a bunch of people with spinal cord injury and often find something that the person can do that the person was not aware of. Examples of this are common. For example, Christopher Reeve really was not aware that he could move his left forefinger until one day he moved it while he was in an animated discussion with his wife and she noticed it, asked him to repeat it, and he was able to do so. In my opinion, there is a very important role of discovering function that a person may not even know is there.
