Hi Cardamon, I have been thinking about start paddling this coming spring. But I can't imaging how to get on or off the kayak. would you please share some experiences?
I have entered kayaks 2 ways. One was to place a chair, or my chair, next to the kayak while it was on the bank next to the river, then friends pushed me in. Second was at a rental place. They had built secured a 10 inch board about 18 inches over the water. i scooted out the board to where someone held the kayak steady directly under me, I placed my feet in the opening and lowered myself in with my arms. As long as the spacing is correct it is not difficult.
I step in the water, but the water has moved on...

sorry but I don't understand the question. The board on which I sat was so close I could reach down and put my hands on the sides of the kayak. I used this method, which is the same way I lower from chair to floor- I just put hands on the board and, with feet in boat, lowered my butt into the boat. My w ords don't convey how easy it was, as well as feeling safe. Sorry no pics. Picture below is how you do do it riverside. the top of the boat is an easy transfer from the chair, then friends push you in.

Thank you Tetra . I am sorry I didn’t say it clearly. What I wanted to say is: Did you do the pressure release to avoid pressure sore while you are paddling ? If so , How often?

Good for you. Is this Roho low profile cushion your daily wheelchair cushion too?

That Roho does not put me up high enough in my chair so I use it on my Nu-step riding machine, mostly. I did use it exclusively for several years before figuring out that my seat to footrest distance ought to be higher. Sharper Image sells a very low profile gel cushion that might be useful for many for short time periods and costs well under $100.
