Pressure relieving is very important. They were at us about it in rehab. It lets the blood flow back into the area. You can get pressure sores if the blood supply is cut off for too long.
I surely need a chiropractor. I was hit from behind by a car and my left leg was severed against the bumper of my own car. My upper torso was thrown into the open hatchback of my own car, the stunt ending with a faceplant onto the floorboard. How could I NOT need a chiropractor? It’s the hip of the amputated leg that hurts when I lie on that side.
In fact, now almost four years later, I finally got surgery to remove a sharp, square, rock that’s been embedded under my chin all this time.
Wow vintage That's so shocking ,and too think they only just took rock from under your chin after all this time , Yes you sound like a chiropractor might be able to help ,slow and gentle and build up ,like me .. You had such a terrible accident , thankfully you lived to tell ,but doesn't mean it's not life changing , I hope you can find a source to relieve the pain ,I rub a pain killer gel on my hip it helps but short but helps .. Mimm x

Hi that's some stretch , but looks good I am unable to achieve something like that, although I would love to try , I do alot of my stretches lay on floor my spasticity gets worse with different things and one is to much stretching so I have to becareful .. Spasticity is something I hate about my disability ,I do have botox every 3 months which helps ,so much .. Mimm
Mimm, what painkiller do you rub on your hip? It’s probably toxic, but sometimes I would risk it to get some relief.
About my chin,...I shouldn’t even get started because it makes me mad. The accident was four years ago, and the hospital that removed the rock in my chin last week was a completely different one from where they had saved my life. So “they” weren’t the same people this time. Anyway, what’s infuriating is the little session three doctors had with me before the surgery,...telling me that what was in my chin “doesn’t matter” and that it isn’t “hurting anything”. That it isn’t “going anywhere” and hence “poses no risk to leave it there”. Grrrr Grrr and double Grrrr. Plus, I had something else in the back of my neck that hurt like the sharp pricks of a pin. I’d had this since the last part of my stay in a nursing home, three years ago. I’ve always guessed that it was a tiny sliver of glass. When they removed it, it was encased in a pink capsule that my body had created around it,...so I still don’t know what it was.
I’m glad to have the debris removed, but I was discombobulated to be told how “unnecessary” the surgery was. The main doctor giving the little speech made reference to the fact that many people have large pieces of shrapnel in their bodies that stay there for the rest of their lives. As I said,...Grrrr. I responded by telling him that I paid $2000 to have my mercury (tooth) fillings removed,...$500 per quadrant. This was met with silent, blank stares from the three young doctors.

Oh that awful vintage They don't care , there's nothing worse than young dr's stood in front of you telling you one thing and your experience is something totally different , I have sadly lost faith with alot of dr's.. Wen u meet so many they all contridict each other .. I rub Ibuprofen gel it goes directly to the ache ..but I bought a tube of Biofreeze it has no medication it just numbs the area it has natrual plants init and yes that works too . I am slowly coming of all medication I'm only on 2 lots and slowly cutting dose down as I've read about certain tablets numbing the spinal nerves so we will see Lol mimm x

I also get spasms. I got an intrathecal baclofen pump which has changed my life. So much easier to get around and do things.
I see a chiropractor every 4 to 5 weeks and get a massage every 2 weeks. Many places offer great membership programs, with a really good discount on the second and third massage of the month.I also have a air mattress that fluctuates every 5 minutes so I do not wake-up stiff in the morning.but is made by drive medical, got it on Amazon for about 50.00. One of the best things I have bought for my overall health. If I forget to turn it on I really feel it in the morning.

I have just been through two weeks of being unable to sit. it's the longest time I have been in that state. I felt life as I knew it was over I mean what can you do if you can't sit. It's such a worry you don't know how long it will go on for. We are going on holiday in three weeks and the flight is four hours long and I was thinking how will I manage but things are improving now. I found an increase in my gabapentin was the only thing that helped suggesting it was nerve pain.

No I have not got a clue it just happens once in a while. I have a nevro high frequency spinal cord stimulator implanted in my right buttock with wires going down my spinal canal. It's supposed to cut out some of the pain. I went to the hospital to get it checked out but all was well. It's just a worry you don't know when or if it will improve but it has I am ok now. Thanks for asking.
