All, I came across this article and wanted to share. I personally think that medicine and technology are probaby way further ahead than we are led to believe. I hope this type of technology will be available (read - affordable) for the mass population affected.
Great find theone! I've never read or hear about this before but it certainly does look like something we can expect in the future that'll work! It almost reminds me of the epidural stimulation treatment I've posted about before. They're not the same things but they both stimulate parts of the body/spinal cord to get things moving. I've got lots of hope in that epidural treatment and incase you missed my post on it, you can check it out here - inspiredsciforum.com/board/26/treatment-cure-research-info-news
Thankyou for sharing theone....there seems to be more hopeful interventions on the way in the future....its all promising..but as you say lets hope its available widely and not excluding people financially.

This is the work of Dr. Chet Moritz. I just met him last week when he gave a presentation at Working 2 Walk 2013 in Boston. I'll post a link to his video presentation when it becomes available online in the next week or two. Here's a biography of his work. faculty.washington.edu/ctmoritz/main/CV_Chet_Moritz.pdf
Here's a LINK to the funding announcement made a couple days ago for Dr. Moritz.
