Hello, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what Bladder Spasms feel like? I’m wondering because I got a growing suspicion that my pains, cramps, and nausea in my stomach may be Bladder Spasms.
I’m a T7/T8 incomplete and I’ve been paralyzed for almost 3 years now. Been bed ridden for almost 2 years as well. (Because of an infection that had to be drained from my leg, and it’s just taking a long time to heal) But for these past almost two years I’ve kept an indwelling catheter because I have been worried about leaks getting to my wound. Well within the last week or two I’ve had pains, cramps, and nausea in my stomach and I’m not sure what’s wrong.
I have no sensation of touch from my chest down. But I can tighten some of my core muscles. I’ve been that way since leaving rehab. But also within the past week or two I’ve began to notice that numb sensation that’s in your legs go all the way up into my thighs and it’s never been up that far before. I feel as thought I might be getting something back but I’m not 100% sure....
I know it could be a UTI but I’m not sure because I’ve never felt the effects of one. Every time in the past when I’ve had them I never knew it until I was full blown septic. (Which I’ve been 4 times, but who’s counting?)
Anyways, sorry for dragging you all along and sorry if I’ve missed any other post about this. But please shed me some insight on me if you can. Thanks in advance. God bless.
Hi Casey. Welcome. For the sepsis, I would use a zapper and take colloidial silver. I use alternative therapy on myself, rather than traditional medicine, whenever possible. I also do “liver flushes” to get rid of gallstones. When I start having any problem with infections, these are what help me.

Hello Vintage, thanks for the suggestions! I’ll have to look into them.
But does that mean that you think these new pains and nausea that I’m feeling are the result from a UTI or another infection? Sorry. I’m kind of confused.
I didn’t answer your question because...I don’t know. (Sad face) Here’s the little synopsis on Google from WebMD: “However, bladder spasms may be the result of an infection or a recent surgery, or they may occur if you have nerve or muscle damage. ... Interstitial cystitis (IC), also called painful bladder syndrome: This condition refers to bladder and urinary pain that is not due to other causes, such as a urinary tract infection.Jul 30, 2016 Bladder Spasms: Causes and Treatments - WebMD
Just guessing,...your nerve damage has been there for quite some time. So, the “something new” is likely an infection. And for that, yes, please look into my alternative therapy suggestions. Also, for any UTI, I make and drink a tea from marshmallow root, gravel root, and hydrangea root, spiked with black cherry juice.
Hello caseygambrel, sorry that you have been through a difficult time. I experience bladder spasms and have feel them in two different ways, one is when I self catheterise, this happens as the catheter enters through the uretha, the spasm causes the catheter to vibrate and I get a deep pain that aches in my lower abdomen. Another I have had occassionally during sex, this is a pain that goes right across my abdomen, it can last for some time, this pain still feels 'tight' for a little time after.
I hope that is of some help, I hope that whatever is causing/triggering the pain settles.
Do your general checks, skin, temperature, blood pressure etc, make sure you don't have an infection as vintage, said also.

Thank you both! I’m still waiting for results back on my urine. Hopefully I’ll get them tomorrow. I do get blood clots too in my catheter from time to time. And I have noticed that whenever my catheter is removed and flushed that it’s like I can feel it being removed by pressure being relieved from my abdomen. But I also have a doctors appointment Monday so I might be able to get more answers then. I’ll keep you all posted though.

My urine results came back and I do have a UTI. So maybe I’m getting some feelings back? Or does anyone know if that’s the kind of pains associated with having a UTI?
