Now that the FDA has approved epidural stimulation testing for people with spinal cord injuries, it'll only be a matter of time before before the treatment is available to us somewhere near home. In the meantime, the treatment is being offered in Thailand. I was very skeptical about but I remember hearing about this back in 2016 when a quadriplegic from Canada went it to do the treatment -
I knew epidural stimulation would be promising the day I heard about it back 4-5 years ago and I'm happy to see that lots of research is still getting done for it with promising results. Never give up hope, we're getting closer!
Here’s the go fund me page. He needs $82,000 US for the treatment. I doubt the doctors will be beating the bushes trying to find me so they can help me any time soon. www.gofundme.com/isaac_needs_help
It says he is quadraplegic, paralyzed from his “upper chest” down. But his need for epidural stimulation is urgent because,...”The inability to control his blood pressure has taken a toll on Isaac’s body, and he does not think that he can stay alive much longer without help.”

I've spoken to staff in the treatment facility in the past regarding treatment costs and it is high up there. Looks like they raised the money some other way for their treatment since the GoFundMe page only brought in under $4000.
The claims of him not being able to live much longer because of his inability to regulate blood pressure is also resonable since he struggles with autonomic dysreflexia (AD), a condition which can be deadly. I've experienced severe AD about 3-4 in my 6+ years of being injured and let me tell you that I'd rather be dead than to feel what I feel during a severe episode of AD. Thankfully for me I've always had people around when it's happened and we were able the find the cause of it fairly quickly but if I was alone and couldn't get to the phone to dial 911, it'd be a completely different story. One that I wouldn't be here to write about.
Each treatment, however incremental, can be very useful to someone. This person reports better blood pressure function, a critical improvement for him. Good.
It's always reassuring to hear some positive news, the FDA don't always get good press but it's so good to hear that they have approved this treatment.
I've read a lot of their blog post, testimonial and such but didn't find much or any actual progresses on its main function. Did anyone have been in contact with them or any of their patient before?
