Personally the make of the van doesn’t matter to me as much as the manufacturer converting the vans. My recommendation would be to pick the van you like based on the features that have nothing to do with wheelchair accessibility, and then find or order a wheelchair accessible version of that van converted by a specialized third-party manufacturer. The best bet is probably Rollx Vans, as they work with pretty much all of the major van makers and have tons of customization options. That being said, if I really had to pick one…I’d probably go for the Honda Odyssey!
The Dodge Caravan was so low to the ground that it would drag on anything including the gravel road I live on. The payload the was 1000lbs after the conversion, my chair is 367lbs and I am 200lbs, that is not enough capacity for a driver, a couple of grand kids and groceries. I traded it in for a Ram ProMaster which is close to the Ford Transit.
