Great video deanertheweiner! I was a good skier before my accident and enjoyed it but I don't think I'd do it now. It looks fun but I'm afraid of getting cold I remember jesse was mentioning to me a while back that he wanted to sit ski. That was video was taken in Whistler Blackcomb, it's the biggest ski resort in Canada! I'd definitely like to check that place out one day though
Well I bought a sit ski/ monoski and Dec. 24th I hit the slopes. I was with a fellow paraplegic who was showing me the ropes. I really enjoyed it but I fell probably 50 times and the first 49' were ok but the 50th unfortunately did me in. It is one month later and I am only just getting around better. I still will be off work for another week and I am not feeling confident that I will be better within one week. Some movements are still super painful. Let me tell you a paraplegic who can't use one arm becomes a quad on the spot, no transfers, dressing self, bowel elimination, self caths ( I kept the catheter that I had installed that morning in for three full weeks). But if it weren't for the dangers of hurting my shoulder again, I can't wait to get back into the monoski. When I first saw that video of Josh flying down the powdery off-piste, I said to my husband and some ski buddies that I had found my hero!
