In the U.K we have a government initiative called: Access to work. Access to work offers practical support to enable people with disabilities to continue with their employment. Individuals are allowed reasonable adjustments to be put in place so they can continue to carry out their job role without being disadvantaged.

Hi Lara i ve been lurking around the site and really like what i see. It seems you already have two moderators allocated to this site which is good. Since i work and teach in vocational education based on Btec and city and guilds standards i think i may have useful advise to this site. Don't know if i need need to send CV but i can say that i had my own private practice, as an electrical/plumbing contractor. i have also spent over 10 years in teaching, and worked as a senior supervisor in construction projects. Alas i was injured on 11/9/2010 during my own private construction project and have been chair bound ever since. I currently work full time in teaching and offer private consultancy on electrical blue prints and building services. I have made major adaptions in order to continue in teaching one being a change from practical workshop training to theory knowledge. I have continued the build project in where i was injured and in the finishing phases. I intend to offer the ground floor to another wheelchair person who is a young nice lady with good communication and IT skills. I am not mother Theresa but, it does work out fine that i can employ a disabled person and not pay PAYE (pay as you earn) tax. Anyway anyone seeking a career, job change or entrepreneurship is welcome to contact me for sincere advise.
Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting delboy! You seem to have a good business experience and you'll surely be helpful for people needing support within the workplace. I'm looking forward to seeing you around the forum!
Well it seems the TV interview i gave on our DIY courses seems still to be very popular. Sounds kind of sweet seeing my own classroom and workshop on TV. Both electrical and plumbing course programmes are popular with lawyers and doctors. A work mate of mine has a popular local politician as a student. BTW i'm the young guy explaining in local language how to wire and plumb a water heater.
Excuse me for the lingo`Lara, it was aimed at our local people. Some people say our diction is sort of arabic. Here is some info on our history
Most don't admit our language is semi semetic and orginated from Arabic. we where at war with the Muslims for hundreds of years. The Knights of st John established base here after they fled from Rhodes and filled the island with fortifications, however the arabs did invade Malta in 830AD and left their language as proof. I say this as the knights destroyed every trace of Arab occupation except the language. These so called knights where anything but religious believe me, with most of us having some form of DNA or roots from them. I think it was called the prima notte.
