Lidocaine spray for healing wound?

I've got a wound that's at the point where it's scabbed over. Unfortunately, it stings. I was wondering if any of you had ever used one f the various forms of lidocaine sprays/ointments that are made for sunburn? 

If so, what were your results? If not, have you tried anything else? 

(For everyone that's wondering, yes, I take frequent pressure breaks and making all the other things you're supposed to do.)
