So I am 4 years into this new normal. But my blood pressure has been up this year 140 to 164 over low 80s nothing has changed in my world to raise it. I only have a muffin or roll in the morning and then I eat a small dinner. I tend to snack on dried mango or cheese sticks for a mid day snack when I have time. Doc wants to put me on something next week. The past 2 checks were done just after a massage but it was still 164 over 80 in June and 146 over 80 in July.. I take seroquel and wellbutrin for depression, but have been on these for more than 10 years and warfrin since my accident. I had a blood clot 8 years ago, but found it was brought on from birth control pill. So did warfrin for about a year. Hospital put me on the Warfrin and no one seems to know if I need to stay on it. Years prior I have been in normal range. Have not gained weight lost about 40lb in my first year and have kept it off so I am about 160 lbs white female and 58 this year. I have not been to a sci doctor in about 2 years. Life has been going good. Just looking for some info before I go in. Thanks
Removing any cadmium contamination source comes first. Next, taking the kidney cleanse herbs marshmallow root, gravel root, and hydrangea root would probably take that number down dramatically. This link lists more things you can do. “High Blood Pressure IN A NUTSHELL...

hello lavender. What did your GP say about your hypertension? I guess you are suffering from general blood pressure as opposed to autonomic dysreflexia. Your injury level is too low for A.D. it might be time to think about taking some form of antihypertensive drugs like amlodipine. You need to consult a physician first, though. Keep a track of your blood pressure. Take it at regular intervals during the day. Record the results for a week. See what it's like in the morning and evening and take the readings to your doctor.
We just lost our insurance, my husband was layer off, so will need to wait to see the gp. I was just getting the blood pressure checks done in the pharmacy. A friend gave me a blood pressure monitor but it is off as well as the one I bought
My husband as a quad had the typical low BP all the time but for some reason over the last year or so, it has been spiking to 200+ / 100+. We can't figure any reason for it and if you check again in 15 min or so it's in a "normal" range. His PCP wanted him to take Clonidine every day but because it changes so quickly, I'm concerned about doing that. Does anyone else have that situation? I feel like the doctors here don't really understand the sci situation enough and we're 4.5 hrs from any who do.

Just a thought lavender, but I wonder if your bp is reacting to you being stressed because your husband has been laid off? I don't have an SCI and my bp is mostly "normal" but if I get very stressed about something it does go up. Could some relaxation techniques help?
He was just laid off 3 weeks ago. Its been up since march or so. My sister just said hers has gone up for no reason also.she is a gp doctor and starting medication. Checking my brother and sister to see if this a family thing
