I have medicare only and need dental coverage, is there any recommendations regarding the most cost effective way to go about getting covered? should I go through medicare or get an individual plan not involved with medicare? I live in California. thanks for any input, I have 2 cavities that are real sensitive to hot and cold drinks and food so I need to get asap.
medicare.com/wellcare/do-wellcare-medicare-plans-cover-routine-dental-services/ “Depending on the plan you choose, you may have copayments, coinsurance amounts, and/or deductibles, and you may need to get care from WellCare Medicarenetwork providers in order for your benefits to apply, or to keep your out-of-pocket costs lower. Some plans have annual limits on routine dental care services. You may be required to pay the full cost of your dental care for non-covered services or for services provided by out-of-network providers.”

I have a Medicare supplement plan that doesn't cost anything and it provides $1000.00 a year search on Google for your area the plans are very common with many options some free some not and I believe its open enrolment right now.

exactly vintage , I had pres. drug plan which is like a suppl plan, and it was useless so I cancelled. that why I don't want to jump into another one I will have to cancel, they don't make it easy to get out of. so unless I get good feedback from a plan that is the only way I will sign up. otherwise I might just pay more and get a personal private dental plan.
However the plans are all based on where the participant resides so the place to start is www.medicare.gov/ and enter all the required information

I’m finding the same thing, sam. I have Wellcare, and they got me dental coverage and $40 worth of supplies per month (such as diapers). Plus, they are mostly very polite. But now that I’m trying to change my home health care to a different agency, suddenly there are hurdles to jump that I hadn’t encountered previously,...with the name Wellcare being thrown around in the mix. Someone called it my “insurance”. Someone else said it isn’t insurance. It seems impossible to really know ahead of time what you are getting into. You sign up for something and then ⚡️it’s like an octapus’ tentacles, grabbing and linking.
I've had pretty good luck so far but I haven't tried to change anything outside of open enrollment. It does get me copay's instead of the 20% I would be liable for with Medicare. I price check my meds to see if they are cheaper with out insurance and sometimes they are especially at Walmart. The Dental reimbursement is new so I haven't used it yet.
