It has been about 5 years since my spinal cord injury. Recently, within the last week, my spasticity has gotten much worse. Now my spasms are keeping me up at night. I was wondering if I should be worried about this sudden change? Also, does anyone have any tips for managing spasticity?

Thank you.
I don't like my body behaving differently and when/if it does, I see my GP who then gives me a referral to see a specialist. You can try to self diagnose and self medicate your issues but if you are already taking any medication then you have to know how your self prescribed meds could interact with what you are already taking, because it could be dangerous.
Baclofen is the normal go to drug to help with spasms and its been used since the 70's. I had to take it for a period of time many years ago and it helped me a lot. I have been a walker now for 20years and it did not hinder my learning to walk again.
Please see a specialist who can go through options with you of what can help. Good luck and please let the rest of us know what you do...it could help other people who may have the same or similar issues
I am 8 years in and I notice increased spasticity when I have an infection, bowel issues, or any kind of pain below my injury level. I use it as a clue that something is not right in the body.
