My name is William and I am a Master's student at Tiffin University. I am working on my thesis project which seeks to examine how the type of spinal cord injury may serve as a risk factor for suicide. Suicide is a problem I am hoping to shed further light on as well as find effective ways to combat/treat in this underrepresented population.
My father had a spinal cord infarction a few months ago and it has been a lot to take in. Prior to the injury he was working full time and completely independent. At 65 years of age, this was something we did not expect to happen, but everything happens for a reason. We have yet to find that reason, but I am sure we will.
After seeing the impact of a SCI, it made me want to further understand what role the type of SCI plays in suicide risk as this is currently an area within the field where there is no consensus.
The link for the survey will be posted below. All responses collected in this research will be analyzed in aggregate form and no names will be linked to the analysis. To be eligible to partake in the survey you have to be at least 18 years of age and have a SCI. Participating in the survey will make you eligible to enter a giveaway to win a $25 Amazon gift card.
Hi Guys, This thread is entirely legit, williamg messaged me checking it was okay to post, I have verified all his info. I encourage you all to take the survey.
