Johns Hopkins surgical treatment center (nerve transfers)

We have a new treatment center at Johns Hopkins Hospital offering comprehensive surgical care for functional restoration in patients with tetraplegia. For certain injury patterns, we are performing nerve transfers in which we re-route redundant nerve supply from working muscle groups towards muscles that are lacking function. We also offer more traditional surgical procedures to address spasticity and joint contractures, as well as tendon transfers to restore motor function. We work with each patient to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their specific functional deficits and treatment goals.
