Does anyone on here use a Turn-Q mattress or something similar? Our foundation has chosen (as one of the goals) to help people with grants to purchase these mattresses. My husband has one and it not only preserves his skin . . . it preserves my health by letting me sleep through his repositioning.
d2mfoundation, I've never used one of these mattresses my self but I've seen them and have heard good reviews on them. I think it's great that you guys will be helping people purchase these

It is a great mattress. I would recommend it for anyone that requires help in re-positioning throughout the night. This mattress not only preserves the skin of the one sleeping on it . . . but the health of the person who is required to get up and do the turns each night. For me personally . . .getting up every 4 hours to re-position Andrew for skin and lung purposes each night was slowly killing me. It was becoming harder and harder to fall back asleep after each time I got up, so I was missing more and more sleep every night. I was a zombie during the day, and up all night and repeated this daily. I did this for nearly two years before I finally was able to get this mattress. And then it actually took me a few months to learn to sleep normally again after Andrew started sleeping on the mattress. Once I finally began sleeping through the night again is when I realized just how unhealthy I had become. We, as humans, need sleep and this mattress is a piece of equipment that I believe is necessary to those who require re-positioning. This mattress, like all medical equipment, is very expensive . . . and is very hard to get insurance to pay for in the U.S. So, there lies the need for foundations such as mine to grant people funds for this need.

Minor things like waking up for a turn really do end up taking a toll and the body so it's good that there are things out there like this mattress to help out. I think it's great that you're trying to help people get funding for things like this through your foundation
