Hi, I’m relatively newly injured and have a few questions about travel. My friends says it’s impossible for a tetra to travel do others agree with this? I’m a C6 incomplete tetra. I have some function and can support with transfers. This is travelling to Europe from the UK by Eurostar. Thanks
Yes, other tetras have done what you plan, and very successfully. I am a tetra myself, though with more function. I flew from NY to Taiwan and back. The overnight rest in the flattened seat was difficult because I could not roll side to side, but I survived.
I suggest you plan carefully and speak by phone to the Eurostar people about exactly what you will have to manage, and what the bathroom facilities are like. Likely there are accessible cars. Next, call any hotels you wish to book and ask very specific questions. How high are the beds? How wide the access to the bed? Safety bars in bathrooms? If you use a manual chair ask about carpeting. Just anything you can think of. usually I call a hotel during their slow hours so the clerk can pay attention.
Consider visiting a local hotel to get an idea of what questions will be important to you. You need not stay overnnight, just go at a slow time to view their accessible room.
I step in the water, but the water has moved on...
