I am a product design GCSE student doing my NEA project and I am looking into creating a dog poop scooper for disabled people in need of mobility aid e.g. a wheelchair. As part of my research, I would like to know more about these related experiences so if you’re a dog owner, please could you share some of the good aspects and difficulties you have encountered when collecting dog waste? Any advice is greatly appreciated and I just want to gain more insight into what it’s like in general.
The hardest part of picking up my service dog's poop is that he goes on grass and wheelchairs don't. I have a spring-loader scooper that operates with one hand squeezing handle, which works when the poop is close to the sidewalk. My hands are loosing strength and even this will soon be unworkable for me. I am considering making a contained sand patch (adjacent to sidewalk) and training my dog to use that for poop, which should make accessibility easier as long as my hands work. Your project is a worthy one, because having a dog--even one not trained for specific tasks--is a great encouragement for anyone, but particularly for we who are disabled. Dogs love us as we are, and don't get impatient when we are slow!

That might be easy, My dog prefers to go in the same area each day. it is gravel. As long as I take him there first he will do his business there. We pick it up in the afternoon so the space will be clear after dark. He waits patiently. yes Wave, I have puppy now, six months nd over 49 lbs. it is difficult.
I step in the water, but the water has moved on...
I am happy to have my cat ,she poops in a litter box and i use ultra light litter so its not so bad to clean up after her its just scary because of balance issues and if i fall i would have to call 911 to help me up but anyway somebody around here had a business goin around picking up dog crap and they used freon i think, it would freeze the crap solid making it more manageable to pickup!
Or you can check out the robotic dogs at boston dynamics some pretty amazing stuff there! I'm only kidding about replacing my best friend or anyone else's for that matter.

Thank you so much!
Well , I am an C5 quad and have only wrist movement so, I think a design similar to the Quadtools: quadtools.com reacher’s might give you a fare idea on where to build your design on.
