My uncle that was paralyzed waist down that was victim of a gunshot passed away 09/29/22. He was paralyzed for 33 years. He was on dialysis less than a year starting at the end of 2021. He was doing good and just just spoke to him 5 days before he passed away. His last couple of weeks he would randomly go have apnea episodes. Doctor just did his blood test 2 days before he passed away and was told everything looks great. About 1 hour before he died he said he didn't want to eat breakfast yet and sleep. This was at maybe 7 am. By 8 am went back to check since his nurse arrived and he was already gone. He had dinner watched TV and talked the night before aswell. Just wanted to share since he was such a strong and loving paraplegic. He told me last year that when the doctor told him he can never walk again when his injury happened that he will walk again since there's so many new technology advances. I had found a special treatment in Bangkok Thailand that has very good recovery in many. I thought when I have enough money I would gift him the treatment. It was from a company called Unique Access medical. Not sure if it a real company. But even than there are many new advances happening in the future. Just to share the type of person he was if anyone talked to him or meet him he had zero negative about his disability and was always happy and excited for new technology such as Tv and high end speakers. He had charm to others that you would not think he is disabled.
Do you know if your uncle is a member of any forum?
Unfortunately I don't think he was a forum member. I checked his laptop and did not find any. Also if anyone is in the New York city area my uncle's electric wheelchair is available that we can help someone in need with it. I believe it's a Invacare TDX SP2 Power Wheelchair. Thanks
