Hello ALL!
I'm new here but just read Lara's "healthy eating" thread. Here's a summary of my eating habits for girls:
Girls require less protein and fats.
I eat every 2-3 hrs because I do get hungry. I don’t eat much each time because I feel full quickly. And because I don’t like to think about what I’m going to eat, I keep a ready stash of ALL I’m going to list. You can pick and choose what you’d like to try, if any.
BREAKFAST: I always have my espresso & skim milk with
--cheese toast on whole wheat (wh/wh) bread,
--Chobani yogurt, --cottage cheese w/ peach, strawberries, or mango,
--cereal (I make a muesli w/ dry oatmeal, slivered almonds, pumpkin seeds, malted sunflower seeds, and dried cherries or raisins. I sprinkle a handful of wh/wh Chex on top. You can mix it w/ yogurt or pour any “milk” over it.),
--boiled egg and grapefruit or orange,
--an egg (fried, poached, or scrambled) on one piece of wh/wh English muffin,
--banana dipped in chocolate and chopped nuts,
--a banana split (Why not?),
--a slice of fruit and nut bread (banana/walnut, fig, date/pecan, lemon/pistachio, etc) or vegetable bread (zucchini/pecan),
--LUNA bar (RDA vitamins and minerals-I buy the box of 24 Lemon Twist).
AM/PM SNACKS:
--toast w/ fruit preserves
--Instant breakfast,
--Spicy V-8, --frozen vanilla yogurt smoothie w/ fruit and/or espresso powder (I get a LOT done in my day!)
--LUNA bar,
--Larabar,
--fruit or vegetable (banana or zucchini) bread w/ tea,
--tea and cookie.
LUNCH: If I sandwich, I only do half sandwiches
--tuna, turkey, chicken salad, avocado/cheese/sprouts/onion, tomato and cheese, molasses and Nutella,
–when I’m particularly busy, I’ll eat 4-5 Romaine leaves and a carrot dipped in chunky Blue cheese dressing,
–soup,
--salad,
--leftover casserole, pizza, whatever.
DINNER: Normally, fish and veggies, wh/wh pasta with sautéed veggies, or a Greek salad; but I keep my freezer stocked w/ Lean Cuisine: Grilled Chicken Primavera and Salmon with basil.
IF I’VE SNACKED LATE and don’t want a filling dinner, I may eat
–-muesli OR
-- an apple or pear w/ a slice of Swiss or Gruyere cheese dipped in mustard OR
--a tin of drained Chicken-of the-Sea smoked oysters sprinkled w/ Tabasco sauce with cream cheese on 4-5 Triscuit OR
--Tortilla chips w/ hot Wholly Guacamole and hot salsa.
(I have sections in each of my books on food and my pantry

For someone who doesn’t eat a lot, and dislikes thinking about food, I certainly believe it’s important to feed our bodies. They either thank us w/ good health or spit and sputter all the day long. These are my favorite meals.
Let me know your preferences.
